Dr. Kunkle experienced a few defining moments while growing up in Fort Wayne that inspired him to become an orthopedic surgeon. As a young athlete, he sustained a knee injury which was repaired by Dr. Jerry Cooper and then an ankle fracture repaired by Dr. Kevin Rahn. When he learned more about orthopedics, he was drawn to all of the innovation within the specialty, especially the different procedures, instrumentation and technology that can be used to improve results and restore function. Dr. Kunkle loves working with patients to identify and treat their own unique orthopedic and spine issues. He embraces state-of-the-art, minimally invasive spine procedures that provide faster recovery times and better outcomes.
When Dr. Kunkle isn’t treating patients, you can find him spending time with his family, on the soccer field or out hunting in the wilderness.
